Generic Drug Price-Fixing Settlement

You may qualify if you paid or reimbursed any part of the price of one or more of the named generic prescription drugs between May 1, 2009 and December 31, 2019, and you lived in any U.S. state other than Indiana or Ohio, or in D.C., Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands. The drug list is published on the administrator's site; the claim form asks which drugs you bought and what you paid, with supporting records such as pharmacy printouts or insurer statements where you have them.

All three settlements have already received final approval from the court, so this is a claims-and-distribution process rather than a pending one. Payment is pro rata, in proportion to the money you spent on the named generic drugs between May 1, 2009 and December 31, 2019 — people who spent more receive more. The administrator publishes no per-person figure, and you are not asked to calculate your own share. If fewer than all class members file, each valid claim's share is larger.

A group of class actions alleged generic drug manufacturers fixed prices in violation of federal and state antitrust laws, making people who paid for the drugs overpay. The manufacturers deny liability. The court has granted final approval to all three end-payer settlements — $275 million with Sandoz and Fougera (September 26, 2025), $200 million with Sun and Taro (January 23, 2026), and $58 million combined with Heritage and Apotex — roughly $533 million in total (In re Generic Pharmaceuticals Pricing Antitrust Litigation, No. 16-MD-2724, E.D. Pa.). The case continues against the non-settling manufacturers.
