Dr. Squatch “Natural” Products Settlement

You may qualify if you bought a Dr. Squatch product labelled “natural” in the U.S. between November 1, 2018 and August 29, 2026 — the covered list runs across bar soap, body wash, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, lotion, beard oil, cologne, lip balm, hand soap, hand sanitizer, face wash, post-shave, shave butter and wipes. Current and former Dr. Squatch employees, officers, directors and their immediate families are excluded. This one is not notice-gated: the claim form has a route for people with no Settlement Claim ID, and up to 5 products can be claimed with no receipt at all. A receipt only raises the cap to 20 products if it comes from a third-party retailer (physical or online), so purchases made directly from Dr. Squatch may not count as proof.

The $9 million fund pays valid claims after attorneys' fees of up to one third, up to $50,000 in costs, up to $40,000 in service awards and about $475,000 in administration expenses. The administrator's claim form sets the benefit at $0.50 per product: up to 5 products without proof of purchase ($2.50), and up to 20 products with proof of purchase ($10). The two are cumulative, so the most one claim can receive is $12.50. That $0.50 rate is then adjusted up or down pro rata depending on how many valid claims come in. Payment comes by check or digital payment after final approval.

A lawsuit alleged that Dr. Squatch labelled certain personal-care products “natural” while they contained ingredients the plaintiffs say were synthetic. Dr. Squatch denies the allegations, maintains the products were properly labelled and admits no wrongdoing; it agreed to a $9,000,000 settlement to end the case (Guzman et al. v. Dr. Squatch, LLC, No. 25STCV03523, Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles). Notice began August 31, 2026.
